If you want to be a Biblical leader, consider these:

With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand. Psalm 78:72

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant. Matthew 20:26

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4

Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Matthew 5:37

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Perhaps you should choose one or two of these, write them down somewhere you’ll see it often, and commit it to memory. Of the ones about, which would most help your leadership right now?

  4. "For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me." (1Cor.4:4) – sobering judgement for leaders, and (Rom.14:4) – "Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand."

  6. As a teacher, the last two stood out the most to me. Leadership is a long-haul, big picture type of deal, and it's easy to get discouraged when you don't see immediate change or progress. There's a reward if you don't give up, though; in the meantime, Jesus is my strength until I get to the finish line. Great list! =)
