Scripture Memorization, Week 3

By January 15, 2011Encouragement

We are learning scripture together.  Each week this year, we are going to add another verse from the Bible to our memory bank.  So far we’ve learned (or attempted to learn) two verses.

How are you doing?

Week one was: Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23

Week two was:  In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.  Proverbs 16:9

This week we have another shorter verse, but it’s powerful.  This week’s memory verse is:

It’s not too late to join the fun…  Hide God’s Word in your heart this year!

How’s this working for you? Do you need to remember this week’s verse?

I broke the verse into 4 portions memorizing one part at a time. That's much easier…

  • Wonderful verse!! Thank u Pastor Ron for the verses u have chosen the past three weeks. I am enjoying this and finding it a helpful tool and motivation for scripture memorization.

I started today as well after the Church service. I have asked my 13 year old son if he wanted to do the challenge with me and he agreed. I showed him the little notebook which I am going to use to write my verses to encourage him. Thank you.

Just joined today! Already have all 3 on my index cards. I love that so far the verses are helping to affirm and support my OneWord 2011… "DO". 1)"…everything you "DO" flows from it [your heart]" 2) I can plan my course, but the Lord determines my steps, and 3) For my mind to be peaceful (and it hasn't been overflowing with peace as I struggle to know what I'm supposed to "DO") I must TRUST in God.

Thanks for this. The accountability will be fantastic (even if it is online…).
