Characteristics of People Who Work at Grace Community Church

Recently I asked the staff what characteristics they think a person who is on staff at Grace Community Church should have. As we reflected on the list, we realized we see lots of these values in our volunteers also.

Here’s the list…

Motivated self starter

Servant leader

Trustworthy

Team player

Warrior Spirit

Flexible

Integrity

Grace-filled/Accepting

Personal Health

Accepting

Authentic

Enduring

Forward thinking

Excellence

Accessible

Steadfastness

You can read about the people who made this list, and are the team of Grace HERE.

Could you work with a team like this?

  1. Wonderful! I have one question. I would never think to put "Warrior Spirit" on the list, because I think that there are some temperaments of servant leaders who might never be characterized as having "Warrior spirits." Sounds like a very masculine term (not that women wouldn't or couldn't have a warrior spirit) that would be appropriate for some but not all aspects of ministry. Any way you could expound on that?

    • Here's a definition of warrior:1.apersonengagedorexperiencedinwarfare;soldier.Ephesians 6 says we are in a battle. It takes courage to continue on sometimes, but that's what I saw around me when I wrote this.
