I think I've never had a plan. In fact, I've never had a plan, except I would major in Computer Science and Math in college, which I did. Not trying to brag, but I was blessed that school came pretty easy for me, so I never developed skills to work to improve myself, to continue learning.

And now, at nearly 46, I have no idea of what I want to do with my life. Or, rather, I know what I'd like to do, but I have no idea of how to get there.

A corollary would be that we shouldn't miss a God given opportunity just because it doesn't fit our plan. Maybe that's another post…

How do we maintain the tension between planning and following (not that the two are mutually exclusive). I wonder if our plans often atrophy to the point where we've forgotten to allow God to surprise us.

Seriously, playing a game that glorifies evil… murder… drugs… prostitution… racketeering… corruption… and all that the Mafia stands for should not be on any Christians plan.

3 John 1:11 Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

I came back from a mission trip where 2 pastors were playing “Mafia” with a group of kids in the back of the van. The driver, who was struggling with faith issues, muttered under his breath (I was sitting in the front seat and could hear), “There’s a whole lot of killing going on back there,… they’re not so different from me.”

Everything we do is a witness to others. Mafia Wars is a bad witness.

Wow. Excellent thoughts. I am working through several areas of my life right now in an attempt to live a more planned life. Thank you for the encouragement!
