Changing Your Facebook Username

logo_facebookAbout a month ago Facebook started allowing users to have a personalized username.  Hundreds of thousands rushed to secure their personal name. I landed facebook.com/ronedmondson quickly and I am pleased with that name.  I knew of several people around me, however, that did not get their name quick enough.  We were told at the time that it was a one-time, never to be changed offer.

Apparently the requests were widespread enough that Facebook changed their policy.  You can now change your username.   This will be welcome news to many.

Here’s how:

  1. Login to Facebook
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Click to change “Name”
  4. Click to change “Username”
  5. Check to see if your desired name is available.
  6. Once you find one that works, you are done!

I have written before how impressive it is that Facebook responds to 250+ million Facebook users as quickly as they do.  That is great customer service.  Way to go Facebook!
