I don't miss the leaves all over the ground nor do I regret cutting it down. Even the tree guy said it was "unsightly." Magnolia trees are so beautiful. I still ride by other houses with gorgeous magnolia trees in the yards, and remember fondly - and hope for another some day. Keep the tree. IT looks beautiful and I have never seen one that looks like the one in the picture. I have to assume that the picture is the one in your backyard. Since I live in the south I do plan on planting one some time just for my Momma. She loves these trees as well and I have some seeds to do so.
