Watch this short clip with President Obama’s potential Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayer talking about the role of the court in establishing law. Obviously it is out of context and that should never be the deciding factor in making a decision about someone, but if she believes what if what she says in this clip is her basic understanding of the role of the courts then this is a major dividing line among what people think judges should do. Do judges set laws or interpret laws?
