How Are You on Facebook so Much? (And What is Twitter?)
The number one most repeated comment I receive each day is: I see you on Facebook all the time. Well, that’s partly true, but not exactly. I’m really rarely on Facebook, except to respond to emails and process friend requests, etc. I don’t look at pictures much and really don’t read a lot of status reports. I update Facebook via Twitter. Twitter is a mini-blog of 140 characters sent from my phone basically as a text message. (I actually use the Twitter application for Blackberry.) I send the Twitter in a brief 10-second thought and it updates my Facebook automatically.
So the next question is always, “Why?” Well, one, because I can and I know how. Two, it’s a great way to stay connected. I have found, especially as our church gets larger, that people are more likely to approach me if I seem approachable. Twitter updating my Facebook allows people to seem more in touch with me and they are more likely to reach out if they need me. The best and fastest way is always through an email, text or Twitter. The short little mind breaks I send on Twitter open more doors for ministry and interaction with people than I could have imagined. I have been involved in online ministry for over 10 years and this is the most effective form of the ministry that I’ve experienced.
I Twitter for purpose always. Besides promoting my blog, I sometimes Twitter to inspire, sometimes to create a laugh, sometimes to remind people I’m only human, and sometimes to cause people to think. It is always a pretty random thought and quickly entered. (Often that gets me in trouble.)

I am not afraid of the police officer. I’m afraid of my wife. Slow down buddy.

My allergies are crazy this week. If you could sell snot I’d be rich. (Sorry for the graphic illustration, but I’m an online extrovert)
My dog is so demanding. Is it because she’s a girl dog? I’m just asking. I don’t know.
