Are You Prepared For a Post-Easter Sunday?

By Ron Edmondson on Thursday, April 16th, 2009 | No Comments »

We had a strong day Easter Sunday at Grace Community Church. As someone who is always looking for ways to improve and grow personally and as an organization, I am usually able to find something that we could do better.  I honestly couldn’t find anything this past Sunday.  We seemed to excel in every area.  Our team of staff and volunteers hit lots of home runs.  From the parking lot to the greeters to the music and speaking, everyone was prepared and aimed for excellence.

My suspicion is that your church had a similar day from the reports I read online.  The good thing about a day such as Easter is that most everyone gets an extra boost. All churches seem to attract larger crowds in those few special services each year.  We should be thankful for those opportunities, put all our energies into making the day great, take risks, dream big, plan well, and reap the harvest God allows us to see as a result.

Those special days have the ability to create huge momentum boosts for your church and the Kingdom.  That’s the purpose of this post.  I want to encourage you to USE THOSE DAYS WELL, even beyond that one day.  Take full advantage of the increased attention your church receives on Easter.  If you captured visitor’s attention Easter Sunday, chances are they may give you a chance again.  Be prepared.  Don’t take a break the next Sunday from the excellence you worked to create Easter Sunday.

Every day should be treated with excellence, but we naturally put more energy into a big day like Easter.  It is likewise just as important to continue that energy into the Sundays immediately following Easter Sunday.

With that as a consideration, are you prepared for this Sunday?
