Ah! You can do it!!! If you decide you want to. At least you are doing something. That's the key. You don't have to run long distances to maintain health. Thanks!

Well, I've learned never to say never. Having said that, I don't see a half or full marathon in the future. I have, however, starting running again. 2.5 miles is about my speed so far, but I'm doing it. I've been encouraged by watching you and Mike Hyatt tweet about running. Thanks! You're making a difference far beyond what you know.

Thanks, Ron.
I've been training for a 5K for almost 8 weeks now and I'm running my first 5K in two and a half weeks and I'm so excited! I definitely understand the "keep running" piece of advice though. I found a program that works well for me and even though I was "anti-running" when i started and getting up super early to go run was incredibly difficult, I have found that rejoicing in my daily victories and seeing my progress day by day and week by week has definitely been an incredibly feeling!!

Best wishes to you in your training!
God Bless.

Thanks for the post. I'm training for Clarksville's first half marathon. Planning to put a team together of breast cancer survivors and their supporters...you should run it with us! November 7th.

At 48, I ran my first half and also full marathon in 2008. I would add two pieces of advice. The first is to train with a team. The team will keep you going when hard times come, and hard times will come if you are training. The second is to buy a comfortable water back pack. There is nothing like it on those long runs.
