With the economic news, the marriages I know of in trouble, and just normal life I’ve found myself in an emotional funk the last few days. Do you ever have days like that?  How do you get rid of the blues? 

 

Here are some things that worked for me: 

 

1.      Read the Scripture.  (Especially the Psalms or Philippians.)

2.      Pray.  (Cast all my cares upon Him.)

3.      Remember the good things in my life. (Get a new perspective.)

4.      Dream a new dream.  (Big dreams always inspire me.)

5.      Think positive thoughts.  (Two for every one negative.)

6.      Let my dog show me some love.  (She loves me unconditionally.)

7.      Go to bed early. (Tomorrow is always a better day.)

8.      Go for a run.  (Distance depends on the depth of the funk.)

9.      Let my family make me laugh.  (LOL)

10.  Bake cookies. (And eat them while still warm.) 

 

These worked for me.  What are your remedies?

    I sleep. A lot. And I eat. McDonald’s French Fries are the ultimate comfort food. You know I’m really depressed when I start getting fat(ter). (And if I’m not depressed then it’s just because Frank will be home and he’ll offer to go get me ice cream at 10pm. Who can say no to THAT?!)
