It’s Greek To Me!

By Ron Edmondson on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 | 4 Comments

I’m always teasing Ben Reed, our newest staff member who graduates from Southern Seminary this December, of speaking over my head.  He’s smart (and smart-alec) anyway, but his recent schooling often comes out as “greek” to me.  Sometimes he talks in the form of a research paper.  Today I proved it.  Here’s the email he sent to my inbox today.  Can you figure out what he is trying to say to me?

1.  Our Fall leadership training is almost here.  Let me know whether of not you can make it…please!  Here are the details:

     Friday, Oct 17th, 5:30-9:00 pm

     Saturday, Oct 18th, 8:30-3:30 pm.

Info on the event is here.

Cost: $60, but FREE FOR YOU!

     RSVP by Sunday October 5th.

2.  Leslie Pigg is helping our community groups out by keeping us proactive with general “care” issues, such as when one of your group members (or someone from their family) is in the hospital (or something similar).  I maybe just speak for myself, but I need help at caring for the needs of those in our group. Leslie is committed to helping me, and you, meet these needs.  When your group has something like this come up, email both me (ben@gcomchurch.com) and Leslie (lpigg9025@charter.net), and she can lay out a plan for your group to exercise its God-given responsibility of caring for the sick and needy in our groups.

3.  We need apprentice leaders!  Just keep that on the forefront of your mind, because as we continue to grow at GCC, we will need more and more leaders.  God’s got huge plans to grow this ministry…are you convinced of that?!?

4.  Hope Pregnancy Center’s annual banquet this year is on Tuesday, October 21st, from 6:30-8:30, at the Mass Communications Arts Building on the corner of 8th and Marion.
