A Loving Wife is Hard to Find. (Glad I found one)

By Ron Edmondson on Monday, October 6th, 2008 | 4 Comments

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD. Proverbs 18:22

Cheryl loves Ella and Ella loves Cheryl. I hear that kind of thing a lot.

I married someone like my mother. Isn’t that the way they say it happens? When Cheryl and I first started dating I took her to meet my mother. She was nervous about meeting her for the first time, but I assured her “don’t worry, my mother likes everyone”. Somehow that didn’t comfort her at the time. I thought that was a good thing!

It didn’t take long for me to learn the same was true of Cheryl. Not only does she “like everyone”, or at least care for everyone, everyone likes her. At times I feel that I am the pastor so she can be the pastor’s wife. As we have left former churches they have often clapped for me and cried for her. One of the leaders in our last church pulled me aside to say, “We understand you have to leave, but can you leave behind Cheryl?”

Okay, I get the message. Cheryl is easy to love. I think it is because she loves easily. Thank you, God for blessing me with a wife with such a gift of love. (Obviously this gift comes in handy dealing with me.)
