Career Evaluation

Sometimes we get locked into a job we just don’t enjoy and consequently, many times we aren’t very good at it either. Certainly when this happens something in our life will suffer for being misplaced in a part of our life that consumes so much of us. Having done this many times I have a few questions to ask yourself to evaluate where you are in your career?

1. What do I do best? Am I getting to do that?

2. What do I enjoy most? (Not always the same thing.) Does my current position fuel that?

3. If not, what is the quickest route for me to get there? Could changes in my current employment allow this to take place?

4. What steps do I need to take for long-term career satisfaction?

Life is short. If we are going to be the most productive in our careers we should evaluate often, quit when needed, and find the niche we were designed and wired to fulfill.
